Punjab Agriculture Department Opens Call Centers For Farmers,  09 May, 2016

To educate the farmers across the state from the attack of yellow rust on the wheat, the state Agriculture Department has set up a call center to provide relevant information to the farmers to combat the menace of yellow rust thus saving their precious wheat crop from this deadly disease. Any farmer keen for seeking information in this regard could call on this toll free number i.e. 1800-180-1551 from 6AM to 10 PM to tackle the problem of yellow rust.



250 mandis linked with e-agriculture market,  07 Oct, 2016

In an endeavour to help farmers get a better price for their products, the Centre has integrated 250 mandis in ten states with the electronic national agriculture market (e-NAM) in the first phase

Over 160,000 farmers and over 46,000 traders have been enrolled under the scheme.

E-NAM is a pan India electronic portal for sale and purchase of agricultural produce which facilitates farmers get better prices of their produce.The first phase of the e-NAM was launched on 14th of April earlier this year. The Centre has aimed at targeting 585 markets to be integrated with e-NAM by March 2018.
